Eagle Bay Canvas Wall Art — Dunsborough, Western Australia

A band of white sand, a wide sheet of pale turquoise, and the hard line where the shallows drop away into deep navy. There is almost nothing else in the frame — no headland, no buildings, just colour and the single thread of a boat wake out near the horizon.

That drop-off line is the whole photograph. It marks where the sandbank ends and Geographe Bay gets serious, and on a still day at Eagle Bay it draws itself as cleanly as if someone had ruled it. This is the quietest image in the Eagle Bay collection and the one that does the most to a room.

About The Location

There is a line at Eagle Bay where the sandbank ends and the water goes suddenly, seriously deep. On a still day it draws itself so cleanly you would swear somebody ruled it. That line is this entire photograph.

Band of sand, sheet of pale turquoise, then the drop to navy — and nothing else except one thin boat wake near the horizon, which I nearly cloned out and then decided to keep. It is the only evidence of a human being anywhere in the frame.

With this little in an image, everything depends on tone, and the 100MP Hasselblad on the Mavic 4 Pro gives me a graduation with no steps in it at all. Of everything I have shot at Eagle Bay, this is the quietest frame — and the one people tell me completely changed the feel of their room.
