The drone's 100MP Hasselblad camera captures the scene in exceptional detail — sand ripples visible through the surface, water texture and the soft graduation of blues — all pin sharp from small framed prints through to large-format canvas.

About The Location

Everyone photographs Cottesloe's main beach. I wanted the stretch just north of it — Grant Street, where the western suburbs locals actually lay their towels. Same impossibly clear water, same white sand, a fraction of the crowd.

I flew along the shoreline on a still morning and took this where the sandbars push the water into those pale glowing greens.

The 100MP Hasselblad on the Mavic 4 Pro picks up the ripple patterns in the sand through the surface — detail that makes the print feel like you could wade into it. Grant Street does not shout the way the famous beaches do. That is exactly why I love it, and why this frame works so well in a quiet corner of a home.
