Product Description

The grassy headland at Hastings Point sits above a tumble of dark rock, and from it the beach curves away north into clear turquoise. Cars are parked along the top of the point, which is exactly how this place works on a good day.

I left the car park in deliberately. It would have been easy to frame it out and produce another empty coastline, but the point is a lookout that people actually drive up to and use, and the handful of cars gives the headland a sense of scale that a clean frame loses.

Personally shot by Australian aerial photographer Matthew Philip on a DJI Mavic 4 Pro. There is a lot competing in this frame: green headland, dark rock, white water and bright sand all in one image. The drone's 100MP Hasselblad camera has the dynamic range to keep the shadowed rock open while the sand stays clean rather than blown out.
