Product Description

Coastal tea tree fills the foreground and beyond it the sand at Hastings Point runs north in a long unbroken line, the surf stacking in even sets against the deep blue of the open Pacific.

Shooting through the bush like this was deliberate. Most aerial beach photographs remove everything but sand and water, which is clean but loses the feeling of actually standing on that coast. Keeping the scrub in the frame puts you on the dune looking out, and it gives the eye something near before it travels the length of the beach.

Personally shot by Australian aerial photographer Matthew Philip on a DJI Mavic 4 Pro. Holding both the fine leaf detail in the foreground scrub and the soft gradient of the water at the horizon takes real resolution. The drone's 100MP Hasselblad camera keeps the tea tree crisp without hardening the water behind it.

Depth that suits a wide wall

The layered composition gives this piece more depth than a straight top down frame, and the green foreground grounds the blues so it does not read as cold. It works well above a sofa or a bed head where the width has room to breathe, and sits comfortably with natural timber and off white walls.
