Wide open sand at Hastings Point with dark reef showing through the shallows in the near corner and the hinterland ranges sitting faint and blue on the far horizon. The tide is low enough that the rock has come up out of the water and drawn a hard edge against the beach.

What makes this frame is the distance. On a clear morning the ranges behind the Tweed coast stack up behind the beach, and you get a sense of the whole landscape rather than just the shoreline. It is the widest view in the Hastings Point set.

Personally shot by Australian aerial photographer Matthew Philip on a DJI Mavic 4 Pro. Distant ranges are almost always the first thing to fall apart in a big print, dissolving into haze and noise. The drone's 100MP Hasselblad camera holds enough information in that far edge to keep the horizon reading as land rather than a smudge.
