Some coastlines feel ancient, and the granite country around Two Peoples Bay is among the oldest on earth. This aerial photograph of Little Beach takes in that bigger picture — the sweep of white sand and turquoise set against weathered granite headlands, with the deep, moody blue of the Southern Ocean pressing in beyond.

Pull back far enough and the beach stops being the subject. The setting becomes the story: bare granite worn smooth over an unimaginable span of time, holding this one small stretch of perfect sand like something precious. Forty minutes east of Albany and it feels like the edge of the world.

For this frame I flew higher and pulled right back from Little Beach itself, because the setting is half the story.

The granite around Two Peoples Bay is genuinely ancient country, worn smooth over a span of time that does not really fit in your head, and the beach sits inside it like something being held. From altitude you get the full contrast — luminous sand and turquoise against dark stone and the serious blue of the Southern Ocean.

It is forty minutes east of Albany and it feels like the edge of the world in the best possible way. The 100MP Hasselblad on the Mavic 4 Pro holds every layer, which is what makes the wide view work as a large print — you can wander around inside the frame.
