Snapper Rocks Aerial Print — Coolangatta, QLD

Aerial photography looking straight down at Snapper Rocks, where jagged fingers of reef break the surface and whitewater threads between them. The car park and headland reserve sit at the base of the frame, giving scale to the reef stretching out into open water.

Shot from directly overhead, the reef reads as pure pattern — dark rock against turquoise and teal water, foam tracing every edge. It's the same reef that shapes the Snapper Rocks point break, seen here without a single surfer in the water.

About The Location

This one is straight down, right over the reef fingers at Snapper Rocks. I wanted the graphic version of this spot rather than the postcard one — no skyline, no surfers, just the rock and the water doing their thing. The Mavic 4 Pro handles the exposure range well here, since the whitewater and the dark reef sit at completely different ends of the scale. It's one of my favourite abstract shots from the whole Gold Coast trip.
