The bay opens into this enormous arc of white sand — you can walk twenty minutes and not reach the end of it — with water so vividly turquoise it looks transplanted from the tropics, except it squeaks underfoot the way only Esperance sand does.

I flew high to take in the full curve, and the 100MP Hasselblad on the Mavic 4 Pro held the whole sweep in detail — you can follow the shore break the entire length of the bay on a large print. Plenty of lists call Wharton Australia's best beach. From up there, the case makes itself.
